We strive to be Eco-friendly here at 728 Outdoor, and for our part, we are implementing bamboo as just a part of our construction materials. There are many reasons why it is great for our snowboards as well as for the Eco-system. Bamboo’s blend of strength and durability that it brings to our snowboard construction is why we stand behind the quality of our snowboards with our manufacturer’s warranty.
The environmental impact bamboo has on our world is another reason why we choose to work with it. It requires less energy and water to grow, much easier on the overall environment to sustain it then other similar trees and plants. Bamboo grows rapidly and it can, in a very short amount of time, help reclaim land destroyed by overgrazing and over-building and clean the toxins in the soil. It also can be grown without the use of pesticides or chemicals because it provides its own anti-bacterial agent naturally. Being one of the fastest growing plants on the planet, it can be harvested and completely regenerate without any need to replant. Finally, unlike synthetic fibers, bamboo is 100% biodegradable.
